Custom domain DNS configuration guide

Add a CNAME record to point a custom subdomain to your KudosWall collection page. Step-by-step DNS setup guides for Cloudflare, GoDaddy, and Namecheap.

To use a custom domain for your collection page (for example, testimonials.yourcompany.com), you need to add a CNAME record at your DNS provider pointing to kudoswall.org. This tells browsers to route visitors on your subdomain to KudosWall. Custom domains require a Pro, Agency, or Lifetime plan.

DNS record to add

Add the following record at your DNS provider, replacing testimonials with whatever subdomain you’d like to use:

Type:  CNAME
Host:  testimonials
Value: kudoswall.org
TTL:   3600 (or Auto)

Step-by-step instructions for the most common DNS providers are below.

Cloudflare

1. Log in to the Cloudflare dashboard.
2. Select the domain you want to use.
3. Go to DNS → Records.
4. Click Add record.
5. Fill in the fields:
   • Type: CNAME
   • Name: testimonials (or your chosen subdomain)
   • Target: kudoswall.org
   • Proxy status: DNS only (gray cloud)
6. Click Save.

You must set the proxy status to DNS only (the gray cloud icon). If the orange proxy cloud is enabled, Cloudflare will intercept the traffic and KudosWall’s domain verification will fail.

GoDaddy

1. Log in to GoDaddy and go to My Products.
2. Find your domain and click DNS.
3. Under DNS Records, click Add.
4. Fill in the fields:
   • Type: CNAME
   • Host: testimonials (or your chosen subdomain)
   • Points to: kudoswall.org
   • TTL: 1 hour
5. Click Save.

Namecheap

1. Log in to Namecheap and go to Domain List.
2. Click Manage next to your domain.
3. Open the Advanced DNS tab.
4. Click Add New Record.
5. Fill in the fields:
   • Type: CNAME Record
   • Host: testimonials (or your chosen subdomain)
   • Value: kudoswall.org
6. Click the green checkmark to save.

Other providers

If your DNS provider isn’t listed above, look for a section called DNS Records or Zone Editor and add a record with these values:

• Host / Name: your chosen subdomain (e.g. testimonials)
• Points to / Value / Target: kudoswall.org
• Type: CNAME
• TTL: 3600 or Auto

Verify your domain in KudosWall

After adding the DNS record, come back to Dashboard → Collection → [your collection] → Domain and click Verify DNS Now. KudosWall will check that the CNAME is in place and mark your domain as verified.

DNS propagation can take up to 48 hours, but it usually completes within a few minutes to a few hours. If verification fails on the first try, wait 15–30 minutes and try again.
